Performing Customer Segmentation Analysis for a Tech Company
In Spring 2025, I had the opportunity to work on a data analytics project with the no-code backend company Xano. It’s a company that allows less-technical people create the backend of apps to prepare for launch and scale. Our project team was tasked with identifying key behaviors that lead to churn (unsubscribing) and determining who is considered high value customers and how to support their success.
My group segmented the data on job title and found a group of customers that needed the most support. Then, I performed analysis on the data using Python to see how we could best support those customers. I made some insightful data visualizations, showcasing the pain points in that job segmentation, and did some outside research to supplement the data that included sentiment analysis and price tier comparison. Then, came up with some actionable recommendations for Xano to use going forward, including some mockups of what these changes could potentially look like. Due to the nature of the data, I can’t speak too specifically on the recommendations that we came up with. But it was still really cool to be able to work for a tech company, learning the terms that are used in the no-code community and understanding the product to be able to come up with the best recommendations.
